                                             OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Institute of Athletic Development (IAD) is based on four key components. These four components make up the foundation needed to achieve maximum results as a competitive athlete. They must all be in place for the athlete to perform at their highest potential.  Just as a chair must have all four legs to stand strong and perform effectively, an athlete must incorporate all four components into his or her athletic development journey if they are to experience exceptional results.

The four components are as follows:

1. Mental Development - This component includes the process of helping the athlete to discover their purpose/motivation for participation in their sport, goal setting, action plan, overcoming challenges and fears, game preparation are just a few of the topics that are covered throughout the various phases of the program.  The formats include workshops, journals, articles, challenges and one on one, audios and books.

2. Physical Development - This component includes strength, speed, explosiveness, power, agility, balance, coordination, acceleration, nutritional support, conditioning and flexibility.

3. Character Development -  This component includes instilling discipline, leadership, teamwork, diligence, honesty, respect, character, responsibility through use of special curriculum, workshops, journaling, homework assignments and "Champion Challenges".

4. Accountability - This component includes using tools such as journals, assignments, partners, homework books and training sessions to measure, monitor, adjust and control their results.

The Institute of Athletic Development (IAD) is committed to the physical development and character development of the youth of our communities by providing quality athletic development programs in an effort to prepare them to reach their full potential with their natural God given athletic ability.
